We provide a multifaceted approach to massage bodywork for the enhancement of health and well-being to people in and around our community. We strive to give you a treatment that promotes relaxation and self-healing.
Deep Tissue Massage relieves muscle tension which may contribute to chronic pain and/or dysfunction. The focus is on the deepest layers of muscle and fascia (the fibrous connective tissue that surrounds muscle). Swedish massage techniques are utilized to relax the entire body. This is accomplished by massaging with long gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart. This method of massage is beneficial for anyone seeking relaxation or relief of minor aches and pains.
We also offer cupping as a therapeutic tool to release toxins and help muscles relax due to injury or chronic pain. Cupping has been used in traditional Chinese medicine and is believed to help treat musculoskeletal pain, as well as scar tissue from previous injury and/or overuse.
We love helping you along through your pregnancy, offering relaxation and relief as your body transitions through each trimester.
IPB is a combination of pelvic floor bodywork using MFR, trigger points, spirit-breath-energy awareness, pelvic balancing & pelvic floor muscle attention. This helps reconnect with & rebalance the pelvic while addressing the muscle patterns & structural/postural issues that lead to chronic discomfort.
IPB helps encourage core awareness/vitality, PFM capacity and restore at the Root.
Benefits:
Facial cupping is great for reducing wrinkles, and increasing healthy blood flow to the face. It can help to brighten the skin by evening out color. It also has a lymphatic and light sinus release benefit.
Procedure:
The facial cupping session is 45 minutes long. We will discuss your goals and what you want to achieve with this treatment before the session starts. The treatment includes working the face, neck, and just below the clavicle. The massage ends with a warm compress for the neck, and hot stone facial massage. The use of small, silicone facial cups won’t leave any discoloration of the skin like traditional cupping.
Benefits:
Myofascial release massage aims to release fascia as well as muscle tissue so they work together.
Procedure:
By manipulating the soft tissue (fascia and muscle) with gentle, sustained movements. Technique will vary between massage therapists, so inquire about which areas you need worked on and your recovery expectations.
Benefits:
Deep Tissue works to get into the muscles deeper under the skin. Trigger point therapy is typically used in areas patients’ feel “knots” or adhesions, or in other areas determined by your practitioner to help achieve better muscle function.
Procedure:
Deep tissue and trigger point work may require different levels of pressure depending how the superficial muscles relax. Once the more superficial muscles relax, practitioners have easier access to the deeper muscles. Your practitioner may decide trigger point or deep tissue work isn’t for you if your muscles tense or spasm under the pressure. When muscles react this way the benefits of massage are negated.
Benefits:
Sinus releases work wonders for stuffed sinuses, allergy symptoms, and headaches caused by sinus inflammation.
Procedure:
Sinus release is a treatment that can be a 5-15 minute add-on service to a swedish massage. Treatment includes working sinuses around the ears, eyes, and nose, and light lymphatic draining.
Please do not make an appointment if you have had a fever within 24 hours of the time you wish to be seen.
Benefits:
With massage lymph can be circulated through the body and continue to bring white blood cells to nourish our muscles.
Our lymph system is similar to our circulatory system in the paths it takes through the body, yet functions differently. The lymph is guided through our bodies via movement of muscles, blood, and breathing. Sometimes this lymph can get stuck in areas (commonly when sick) and produce enlarged lymph nodes. Lymph does not need to be stagnant for lymph draining to be beneficial.
Procedure:
A whole body lymphatic drainage treatment will be extensive, and you will want to make time for a longer appointment. Usually we focus on an area of concern (arm, face, leg, etc.) during one massage session. These sessions usually include pumping the lymph by using light pressing movements repeatedly to encourage drainage.
Benefits:
Cupping is an alternative modality to deep tissue work since it treats the muscles in a similar way, and can be more effective for people who don’t respond well to deep tissue therapy. Cupping pulls the muscles and other soft tissues away from the body, where deep tissue work could press tissues against bony prominences. Cupping is also a great way to increase circulation to the muscles focused on during the sessions.
Procedure:
Cupping may leave circular marks on the body (called petechiae, similar looking to bruising), if you would not like to be left with marks your practitioner can adjust the treatment so these aren’t prevalent. The outcome of the treatment may differ. Practitioners can use glass, silicone, or vacuum cups for treatment. Cupping therapy varies in how it is provided; ask your practitioner about any concerns you may have before treatment.
